Plitvice is a must-have if you are ever going to Croatia. Are you still unsure? In this post, I will convince you about the beauty of Plitvice.

If you are still unsure about Plitvice, I will try to explain. Plitvice is also known as Plitvicka jezera (Nacionalni Park), or Plitvice lakes National Park. It is a nature reserve in Croatia.
It is best known for its stunning waterfalls and lakes, and beautiful hiking trails.
We now know what I mean, so let’s move on to the reasons you should visit the park. Get ready!
You will most likely combine your visit to the nature reserve with a visit one or more of the key cities in Croatia like Zagreb or Split. These cities offer several convenient routes to Plitvice.
The easiest way to go is to rent a car and drive it yourself. We did that. It took us around two hours to travel from Zagreb. Google Maps estimates that a trip from Split will take approximately two hours and 45 minutes.
Renting a car gives you more freedom while driving. You can stop in small towns to grab a bite to eat on the way back. Rastoke was our stop, which had only 62 residents. Between Zagreb & Plitvice.
It is also possible to travel by bus to Plitvice. Flixbus costs EUR13 for a one-way ticket to Zagreb. This would take you about two hours. Split would be your starting point. You’d need to pay EUR22, and you’ll have to lose approximately four hours.
If you don’t feel like driving or don’t have your license yet, I recommend the bus.
The entry fee to Plitvice lakes is very affordable compared to the Croatian price. This website will show you the cost. Remember that prices are displayed in Croatian Kuna (HRK). To get a better understanding of prices, you can convert your currency into HRK.
Plitvice’s fascinating nature is without a doubt the main reason so many people want it. You should seriously consider planning a trip around Plitvice if you are a fan of travel inspiration.
Is this really necessary?
Plitvice is a place I have never seen. It has lakes, waterfalls and forests that are unlike anything else. It is something that cannot be explained. You will have to discover for yourself.
While some people may go insane when this happens, others love it. The other tourists were not so bad when we visited Plitvice. Because we visited at the end June, there weren’t many tourists. We were able to travel wherever we wanted, despite the presence of some Chinese tourists and other families.
You might encounter more tourists and other people if you go during summer. You might find it interesting. If you don’t want to travel, I suggest that you go between October and June.
This is mainly true for people who travel to Plitvice in a rental car. However, you can also enjoy the roads in a bus.
You can do many things to make your trip more enjoyable. You could play road-trip games, listen to music, or talk about the meaning and purpose of life.
There are many other activities you can do while on this particular Croatian road trip. It turns out that many of the Croatian buildings, houses and landscapes along the route to Plitvice can be quite captivating to see. Many buildings still bear the scars of the Croatian War of Independence. One example: A house was totally pierced by bullet holes but was still standing.
You’ll find this cute pathway while you visit Plitvice.
You’ll feel exhausted after a day of hiking at Plitvice. Tours can last anywhere from 1 to 8 hours. But you’ll also feel satisfied. One of the most beautiful places I have ever hiked is Plitvice.
You’ll also be doing a lot of cardio so you don’t need to go to the gym.
This might not be true if you are visiting Croatia. It was so hot when we were there. After a long day of walking through the park, the mist from the waterfalls was a refreshing source of cooling.
You might also be cold enough if you travel between October and June, as I suggested earlier.
You should leave your rental car at the entrance 2 if you are coming with a rental car. You can easily go to any side of the park from this entrance. It was okay to park our car at entrance 1.
