This exhibition tells the story and the impact of the 2 mining disasters that took place in Seghenydd in 1901 and 1913 - which was the worst mining disaster in the UK.

The exhibition is based around the Book of Remembrance that was opened after the disaster, but the exhibition includes much more, including newspaper reports, an extensive photographic collection and memories of local people. It is an exhibition that gives a true insight into the heart of a community that went through so much together.

A recent film on BBC Wales shows how the community has survived and continues to commemorate its past.

Additional information

Open Monday - Saturday, 11.00 - 14.00. Please phone if you would like to arrange to visit at any other time.
