ToiletsCar Park

This restored industrial building once housed the beam engine for the blast furnaces of Cyfarthfa Ironworks. The Ironworks were built in the early 19th century and formed an integral part of the Crawshays "Iron Kingdom".

Inside the Engine House are exhibitions of the history of Merthyr Tydfil - but even if the exhibition is not open, the Engine House and the remains of the furnaces are a fascinating reminder of the area former role in the production of iron.
