In the Footsteps of Alexander Cordell by Chris Barber

The most recent book (published in 2007) aims to give an insight into the mind of Alexander Cordell. Chris takes readers through the historical background of a number of Cordell's historic novels. It includes photographs of the area as well as letters by Cordell, and details of conversations between the the two authors.

Alexander Cordell: Valiant for Truth by Mike Buckingham and Richard Frame

Including extracts and anecdotes from his war diary, this biography of novelist, Alexander Cordell traces his life and career and especially his relationship with his first wife, Rosina, and Donnie, the widow of his next door neighbour.

Cordell Country by Chris Barber  

Chris Barber was a fan of the work of Alexander Cordell when he wrote this book in 1985, and was delighted that Cordell attended the launch, saying that he was "deeply touched" by the publication. The book explores the country that inspired "Rape of the Fair Country", and features sketches of historic sites by Michael Blackmore.

Chris Barber went on to update this book in 1996 by producing Walks in Cordell Country.
